School Bags, Shoes, Notebook Kit distribution for School Going Kids
Education represents a critical area of action to realize India’s growth potential and make it inclusive, by enabling children from all sections of society to have access to quality basic education that equips them for taking up higher education or job-oriented skill training. Every year we distribute school kit for underprivileged students for rural Government schools of various parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. We get the request from government schools and government aided schools from remote places, where 90% of the students comes from economically backward class.
Sports Kit for Schools
This activity provided necessary resources for the students and the locals to organize sports events and tournaments in the village. It also provided opportunities for youth and children to compete in village-level tournaments. Sports equipment’s are provided to the schools to ensure students use the facility for play and practice. The intervention is ultimately aimed at engaging the youths of the rural areas in sports by channelizing the unbounded energy in the right direction and it also results in lesser drop-out rate in Secondary level.
Shiksha Saarthi (School on Wheel)
School on Wheels is an integrated approach towards improving the quality of education for underprivileged children. It seeks to ensure pre-primary and primary education for all children up to the age of 14 leading to their overall development. The key component of the project is a bus designed as a mobile class room to provide alternate educational facilities to street children and pavement dwellers. Efforts are then made to enrol these children in formal schools as soon as they are ready for the age appropriate standard education.
Shiksha Abhyudaya Vidyalaya (School for Underprivileged Kids)
Mithi works towards creating a replicable model by introducing innovations to help achieve the national goals of access, equity and excellence in education. The Shiksha Abhyudaya Vidyalaya, East Champaran, established in 2018, is one such innovation. What makes the Vidyalaya different is the unique eligibility criteria. It caters to the meritorious children coming from disadvantaged families where the parents earn less than one lakh, annually. Right from the ambience to the services provided, the Vidyalaya aims for excellence.
Vidya Vikasini (Our Effort to promote Girl Child Education)
To encourage the girls to reach schools located far away from their villages, the high school students entering VIII & IX are provided with cycles. 25 cycles were distributed in this year in Pandaul Block of Madhubani District in Bihar. Mithi Abhyudaya foundation has already provided more than 300 cycles to all the school girls of high school and higher secondary who come from far off places and large distances to government schools during the last few years. The major objective is to curtail drop out cases amongst girls.
Adolescent Education
As Adolescence is an age of Transition. If not handled well this age may sow the seed for many psychological diseases and psychosexual trauma to developing mind impacting the subject’s future productivity. Hence, we’ve developed a module of presentation to guide adolescent boys and girls to sail through this delicate age. Our module is a perfect blend of Sex Education and Value Education focusing on Indian Values and Future prospects of keeping safe sexual practices and its consequence and prevention of Disease.
WASH Campaign
WASH – Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene campaign by Mithi Abhyudaya Foundation aims at providing access to safe drinking water, clean toilets, and proper sanitation facilities, which is vital for well-being, good health, and proper growth of children in the community. Good personal and community hygiene is the cheapest way to make a big impact on the health of a family and a village. Hygiene is one of the least expensive, most cost-effective changes that can be made with immediate rewards in quality of life. Through our Campaign, we make schools the fulcrum where WASH is implemented at all levels.
